Major Moscow's Assaults Disrupt Electricity Across Kyiv

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
Ukraine's power facilities have faced increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's aerial assaults have resulted in electricity outages in large parts of the capital city, the Ukrainian capital.

A number of civilians were injured while inhabitants in the city's east were experienced blackouts and dealt with interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a minor was lost their life in a separate aerial attack in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by area administrators.

Russian forces has escalated attacks on power infrastructure over recent weeks, while Ukrainian leadership has called for "substantial measures" from partner nations to increase pressure on Russia.

"What's needed is not symbolic gestures but strong steps - from the United States, Europe and the G7 - in providing defensive weapons and applying restrictions," he wrote in a public message.

Authorities reported that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets struck the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "cynical and calculated" and against "essential services" as temperatures become colder.

Government representatives said Russia was "inflicting a massive strike" and technical staff were working to repair systems.

A barrage of missiles damaged energy infrastructure and apartment buildings in the capital.

Multiple people wounded in the attacks on the city have been taken to hospital, as confirmed by city authorities.

Local officials said the city came under heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were injured.

The assaults follow periods of aerial attacks in the region, sections of which are currently controlled by Moscow's military.

The whole nation is on alert for sophisticated projectile assaults, which are harder to identify.

Authorities told reporters that Moscow was deliberately attempting to destroy the national power system, with strikes already affecting gas facilities.

Officials stated utility staff and government agencies were bracing for further attacks.
