The Animated Series' Creator Is Aware of Your Season 2 Bingo Cards — With Some Positive Updates

The much-anticipated Season 2 of the musical adult cartoon Hazbin Hotel debuts on the streaming platform this week, and audience theories has been rampant.

The first season introduces a diverse group of characters residing in Hell and Heaven, sets them at odds accompanied by musical numbers about their clashes, and builds tense rivalries and angsty, affectionate connections that fuel fan obsession.

The fandom's stated hopes for season 2 vary widely, but certain threads emerge over and over: Will a fan-favorite character escape his tormentor? Will we find out more about the binding agreement affecting Alastor the Radio Demon? Will [favorite character] and [other character] finally get together?

"Naturally, I don't produce the show with audience demands specifically in mind," the showrunner commented recently. "However I feel like me being a fan of my own show means there's a lot of it just inherently. I also am eager for these things, and I want some of these things to happen, and clearly some of these things are meant to happen in the show!"

She reveals her long-term vision is for a five-season run of Hazbin Hotel. Future installments have received approval by the production companies, which finance the series.

That could imply fans have to be patient for some of the biggest payoffs — but they may be surprised at how fast the new season moves, and how many of what they're anticipating happens this season.

"I feel like people are going to get a lot out of it," the creator notes. "We get some firsts. I think we get some really amazing reveals, some really cool origin tales, and even basic elements, [like] I hope this character gets a song. […] We're going to hear much more singing from the previously silent cast members."

The creator is well-informed of the guesses and hopes about the upcoming season — particularly in the format of fan bingo cards.

"I've seen a couple people create a bingo card about season 2," she says. "Obviously I can't post it, but I've actually done a few items, and almost all of them have almost a bingo. I was like, Oh, if you put this [event] in this spot, it would be a bingo. So that makes me think we accomplish much [of what fans are waiting for in this season], because I realized, Oh, there's multiple potential bingos on this card. So that brings me joy."

Hazbin Hotel season 2 premieres on Prime Video on October 29.
